With the second week of games of the Garena Campus League ‘B’ Division starting soon, we are seeing a gap between teams form as the winners and losers bracket shape up. Continuing from last week’s “M1 Pick’Em” predictions, here are my second week predictions.
June 6, Tuesday
3PM – Bukit Batok Secondary School (BBS) vs. Ang Mo Kio Secondary School (AMK)
Current odds: 7.24% to 92.76%
Despite both of these teams putting on similarly disappointing performances in their first games of the Garena Campus Leagues, Bukit Batok Secondary School lost to an undoubtedly better team in reigning champions – Choa Chu Kang Secondary School. Though this still makes it hard to gauge their comparative strengths, it is enough for these odds to be far too skewed.
Prediction: It will be a close series 2-1, with BBS coming out on top to play the odds, though AMK could very well be the better team.
6PM – Westwood Secondary School (WWS) vs. Hong Kah Secondary School (HKS)
Current odds: 93.78% to 6.22%
Westwood Secondary School looked like a better team -especially individually- in their game against West Spring Secondary School. HKS has shown clear weaknesses while WWS have at least decent mechanics.
Prediction: WWS will take it 2-0.
June 7, Sunday
3PM – Choa Chu Kang Secondary School (CCKS) vs. Geylang Methodist School (GM)
Current odds: 93.05% to 6.95%
In the first winners bracket match, CCKS were heavy favorites. Baylife’s squad displayed incredible dominance in their first match against Bukit Batok Secondary School; it would be foolish to bet against them.
Prediction: Bet big on CCKS 2-0.
6PM – West Spring Secondary School (WSSS) vs. Tanglin Secondary School (TS)
Current odds: 94.25% to 5.75%
A much harder one to call; both of these teams have shown solid knowledge of the meta and drafting toward it, have standout players and overall are decent in micro and macro. However, I did call Jichu as my player to watch this tournament and I’ll stick to that.
Prediction: This game might be close and the odds aren’t great, but WSSS will take it 2-1 against TS.
