Climbing ranked games can prove to be a challenge, especially if you’re solo queuing. Trust me, I know; I just finished Epic 3 Rank last season. So here are some useful tips in climbing up the ranks in Moonton’s MOBA.
Epic & Beyond…
So you have manage to come this far. Ranked games are now conducted in draft mode, and most importantly, you need to strike a well-balanced lineup (besides knowing which hero to ban). Depending on your position in the team, sometimes you may get to choose first. Other times, you need to pick the most optimal hero for your team.
For example, if your team has enough Marksmen already (this happens most of the time, FYI), you’ll either need to pick a Tank or a Mage depending on the heroes remaining in the pool, and in this pool there are certain heroes that are better in their category (Tigreal > Balmond if your team has lots of AOE). You will meet some pubs from time to time who will choose Marksmen and not a Tank when there are already 2 Marksmen on the team. So be prepared for that.
Learn At Least One Hero Per Class
The game has a nice pool of starting heroes to choose from, which is sufficient if you want to expand your hero pool to at least 1 hero per class. Some optimal heroes to learn in their classes are Layla for Marksman, Eudora for Mage, and Alucard for Fighter.
In ranked drafts however, the hero you are good in may sometimes be picked by another player, so it’s good to be adequate with more heroes as a precaution. For example, Clint is another good alternative if Layla is picked first. Try out the heroes a few times before deciding who suits your playstyle.
Choose The Right Emblem & Battle Spell
It’s hard to unlock and level up all the different emblems if you’re a free-to-play player, therefore it’s ideal to focus on the basic few: Physical, Magic, Tank and Jungle. You should focus on a specific class and the corresponding emblem. For example, a Marksman like Layla should use either the Physical or the Jungle emblem. Eudora the Mage should focus on the Magic emblem.
Battle Spells are another vital area that determines how your games are played before the match starts. Marksmen generally use Inspire, while Mages use Flicker. Fighters & Junglers use Execute, and Tanks normally opt for Purify.
The situation also depends on how you play too. Some Tigreal players will agree that Flicker will help them set up their ultimates. Others might think that Purify fits their style better and they can get into position better than Flicker.
Co-Operate With Your Team
Remember: Mobile Legends is a team game. You will need teamwork to win the game. There are instances where one Marksman can carry the game on his/her own, but it does not work that way as you move up the ranks. If your teammates in the other lane need help, you should proceed to help them instead of questioning their ability to win their lane and then getting angry at them. If they’re pushing a lane, you should join them in the push unless you can take down towers fast by yourself.
Hopefully these tips will help you to rank up in no time at all, and propel you on your journey to Legend tier!
