No one knows where he comes from or why he fights, but everyone born in the wastelands knows that he is the only semblance of justice in these parts. Even the boldest of thieves wouldn’t dare to challenge Clint and his six shooters.
With his lightning reflexes and unparalleled accuracy, a flurry of bullets would be buried in his enemies’ foreheads before they had time to blink. He only draws his guns for what he believes are just causes, but when he does, there’s hardly a villain alive who can escape his righteous barrels.
Clint is a unique marksman compared to the rest as his main damage source comes from his passive most of the time. He can be a very deadly threat if the player fully utilises his passive ability. Clint is definitely a good marksman to master.
Here are his pros & cons.
- High burst damage. Abuse his passive and burst your enemies in front of you. With the correct items, he will be a huge threat to deal with.
- Fast clear. He can clear waves fast enough to prevent your enemies from destroying your turrets. Just remember to keep a safe distance!
- Kiting. Buying the Thunder Belt can help you kite very well in most cases. His first and second skill can inflict the slow effect on enemies too.
- Item-Dependant. without the correct items you may not bring Clint to his full potential, so may not be able to kill turtles fast in the early games.
- Mobility. Compared to Karrie and Moscov, his only escape is his 2nd skill but its cooldown is quite long.
- Flicker/Purify: Use this for escaping from enemies as well as finishing off low health enemy. This combination is great for keeping yourself in a good position.
- Emblem – Physical Damage
Quick Draw (Passive) – After releasing a skill, next basic attack will penetrate targets along a straight line, dealing 120% of basic attack as damage.
Quick Draw is your main damage source apart from your skills as it deals a ton of damage to enemies in a straight line. This is very useful for clearing the wave and bursting your enemies down using your combos.
Blind Smoke (First Skill) – After releasing a skill, next basic attack will penetrate targets along a straight line, dealing 120% of basic attack as damage.
Blind Smoke deals a fair amount of damage as well as slow and hit rates of enemy heroes. This is useful in many situations, such as when enemies are trying to destroy your turrets or clearing the jungle monsters in the early game.
Heel Rope (Second Skill) – Shoots a trap net forwards, dealing 140 pts of physical damage to the first enemy it touches and slows the enemy down. Meanwhile, the hero will step back for a section of distance.
Heel Rope is Clint’s only method of escape and chasing enemies; he does this by shooting a net in front of him and slowing down his target. Do take note when using this skill as you are Vulnerable without it. However, it also serves as a great kiting tool.
Howitzer (Third Skill) – Launches a grenade toward the target, dealing 230 pts of physical damage when it hits and explodes. It can stack up to 5/5/5 grenades.
Howitzer works extremely well with your passive, which allows you to keep activating your passive and dealing tons of damage. Always be aware of how many stacks you have.
Suggested Combo: Howitzer > Blind Smoke > Auto Attack > Howitzer
I recommend Berserker’s Fury first because it can give you constant damage buffs and your passive can crit as well. After that, I would go for the Windtalker as it gives you more attack speed to spam your passive faster and have more damage at the same time.
The Thunder Belt serves as a great kiting tool as it slows the enemy and works well with Clint since he can spam skills to trigger the item’s effect. Endless Battle is a must-have item for Clint in my opinion since you will be using your skills a lot. The item helps your skills stack with your passive ability, thus dealing massive damage. Lastly, I will go for the Blade of Despair for maximum damage or immortality, depending on the situation.
Early Game: During the early games you want to farm fast as Clint is very dependent on items. I would usually go mid lane as a marksman to farm lane and jungle fast and avoid unnecessary fights.
Mid Game: After I get my 1st item, I would try to gang up other lanes if I have the chance or try to secure turtles with the team and continuing farming.
Late Game: This is where Clint shines. His burst damage is high and now you would want to follow your team and position yourself properly for any possible team fights. Clint deals high damage, but enemies can still kill him easily if you are out of an advantageous & safe position.
During teamfights, I would attack behind my tank or support or from the sides and try to break their tanks down as your damage can cause a lot of damages to tanks as well. You can get objectives fast late game or steal turtles / Lord from enemies with your unexpected burst. If you are losing stay behind the turret and clear minion waves fast before your enemies can start destroying it.
