Ana Amari, Overwatch’s support sniper was recently teased in a Heroes Of The Storm update which also featured a new map based off Overwatch’s Volskaya Industries and Junkrat.
Well, Blizzard recently released a Hero Spotlight for Ana…
And she looks amazing!
The ability to stop healing in HOTS is much more important than other MOBAs, as support heroes are very strong in HOTS. By cutting off their healing output, Ana will be able to steamroll many fights.
Nano Boost seems like a very powerful heroic ability. Reducing the cooldown and increasing the spell power of ability casters like Jaina, Kael’Thas, and Li-Ming is much more powerful than increasing the attack speed of one ally. These ability casters have a ton of Area-of-Effect (AoE) damage output, which can take out many enemies in one shot.
Ana could see the return of the double-support meta, as she is amazing when paired with area-of-effect healers like Lucio and Auriel, as well as self-healing tanks like Arthas and Leoric. She also has supplementary damage output built into her passive as well to mitigate the traditional problems of double-support team compositions, which is not having enough damage output to bring down enemies.
- Ability to stop enemy healing.
- Has strong single-target healing.
- Long attack range and decent damage output.
- Powerful heroic ability.
- No mobility options.
- Sleep Dart is hard to use properly, as a stray auto-attack or AoE ability will wake the sleeping person.
- Can’t heal multiple allies effectively.
After seeing how amazing and possibly meta-shaking Ana is, we can’t wait to find out what Junkrat does! You can discuss the new hero on our Discord channel and look for others to play HOTS with as well.
