The dream-like Grand Finals during BlizzCon saw two massive Heroes of the Storm titans MVP Black and Fnatic go head-to-head. It was like they were destined to clash against each other.
After all, Fnatic defeated MVP Black in the semi-finals of last year’s Fall Championship.
However, the champions of this year’s Mid-Season Brawl weren’t everybody’s favorite team when they stepped into the arena, as MVP Black had maintained a winning streak over the entire second half of this season.
The atmosphere was at an all-time high at the BlizzCon HGC stadium, as the crowd burst in celebration at every kill and narrow escape both teams made. When the dust settled, MVP Black stood over Fnatic with a 3-1 Victory after a nail-biting Tomb of the Spider Queen match.
Fnatic tried an isolation strategy using a Stitches and Medivh wombo-combo, with a Gorge and Portal teleportation trick to catch a lucky break. However, it was MVP Black that was able to turn the tides and secure a kill on Stitches and push the opponent towards the Core. MVP Black’s unwavering determination and perseverance was more than enough to win their first ever victory at BlizzCon.
This has been an amazing HGC tournament. We can’t wait to see what HGC 2018 has to bring in the Heroes of the Storm circuit.
