League of Legends fans in Singapore: there’s going to be an awesome stage battle at this year’s GameStart Asia.
After a gruelling series of games last Saturday on October 7 at the Alienware Arena, Sovereign and Resurgence emerged victorious in their respective brackets and will advance to the big stage at GameStart Asia facing off in a best-of-3 match.
Sovereign took down Team “1.5k RP or 9th Place” (Formerly Team Corgi) 2-1 and Team Impunity 2-0 on their road to the finals. Resurgence didn’t drop a single game, taking down Team “astral pls dont feed” and Team Bokwon’s Puppies 2-0 to advance to the finals.
The stakes are high for these two teams; they will be competing for an SG$4000 prize pool and the title of Legion Singapore Series Champions on the main stage at GameStart Asia.
Resurgence’s Ken “Raven” Goh expressed confidence about the upcoming finals. “I’m pretty confident coming into this finals,” he said. “[I’m] expecting a 2-0 and no less. This finals tournament should be a 4v5 with the enemy mid laner being irrelevant the whole game.”
While Sovereign’s Dominic “Arykelic” Loh was a man of fewer words, he said the following: “Mid Lane Kingdom, the true All-star will win this.”
The last time these two mid laner stars fought each other was at the TLC Summer Finals 2016 in a drawn out, back and forth 5 game series. If this series is anything like the previous battle, LoL fans can expect an exciting match between Sovereign and Resurgence.
