Update: Added in the specific 8 items Ornn can upgrade for teammates.
Move over, Kayn – there’s a new champion coming to town, and his name is Ornn.
Riot Games has released a new Champion Reveal, featuring the mountainsmith’s multifaceted abilities – and his game-changing passive.
Passive: Living Forge & Master Craftsman
With Ornn’s Living Forge passive, it seems that Ornn users may never need to return to the base except to heal. Ornn can forge items any time when he’s out of combat, although it’s unclear if this applies to potions. The Master Craftsman passive also allows him and his teammates to build special upgrades for selected items in the shop. Each player is allowed only one of these upgrades.
Update: Blake Smith, one of the LoL champion designers, has given players a sneak peek of the 8 items Ornn can upgrade.

While the list still isn’t final – Smith has mentioned they’re considering swapping Redemption out for Ardent Censer – Ornn still looks set to be an infallible ally in any team.
Q: Volcanic Rupture
Ornn’s Q serves a variety of functions – Ornn sends a fissure out in a straight line that not only deals damage and slows enemies: after a delay, it creates a magma wall at the target’s location. It’s small, but could still impede immediate attempts to escape or close in. It could be as annoying as Trundle’s pillar.
W: Bellows Breath
True to his godsmith nature, Ornn spits fire at his enemies, getting tankier in the process. Enemies hit by his final gout of flame are afflicted with the Brittle debuff. Ornn’s basic attacks knock back Brittle enemies. Pair Ornn with CC champions like Lux: CC effects last longer on enemies with the Brittle status, and they take bonus damage based on their maximum health.
E: Searing Charge
Ornn charges down a short distance in a straight line, dealing damage to enemies he passes through and knocking them up. It’s like Malphite’s ultimate, but with less cost, and more benefit. Ornn’s E will break player-created terrain if he hits it, possibly cancelling everything from Trundle’s pillar to Anivia’s wall.
R: Call of the Forge God
Ornn summons a massive fire elemental a good distance away from him, and likely behind enemy lines. It runs towards him, inflicting Brittle on anyone it runs over. Ornn can then send it running right back at a higher speed, knocking up all enemies in its path and applying the Brittle effect again.

Ornn will most likely hit the PBE servers this week, in preparation for the coming League of Legends patch.
